I know! Two posts in one week is a record. I am really trying to keep updated. Here is a little rundown of our Halloween Holiday. . . First, the pumpkin patch.
Then, we try to keep Grandma Shauna's tradition alive with our annual Halloween Party.
Grandpa Stan showed up with the pizza and the kids didn't even recognize him, and they are convinced Grandma must be trying to be Hannah Montana.
I was without a costume this year. One, for lack of planning and two, because when I tried to be Princess Leia things looked terribly wrong with the huge belly, so pumpkin earings and a black shirt will have to do this year.
Chad dressed up like an Army man because when he returned from his work trip the day before, Carson told him that he felt like his dad is in the Army and he doesn't get to see him very much. He also said, "It feels like when you come home, they must have kicked you out." Chad didn't think it was very funny.
Pumpkin carving was fun this year because both Abby and Carson were really good at it. Carson made it clear that he is "in to it" this year, and he did two that were pretty hard and they turned out great.
Then, on to Halloween night! First the witches brew & clam chowder and then a late night of trick-or-treating.
As you can see . . .Abby was a witch (which was not the original plan, but we seemed to have miss placed or discarded the big bag that had some costumes in it. Luckily my sister had a witch costume in hand) Carson was a Bakugan, and Cooper was Superman.
They were both excited to spray their hair black and Carson can't help but strike a pose for a picture.
The face paint is not really necessary, he just wanted to spice up the costume.
After some early rain, things seemed to clear up ok, and the kids had a great time trick-or-treating. Abby and Carson stayed out pretty late and came home with way too much candy. Cooper got too cold and didn't really see the point once he had a good amount in his bag, so he headed in early. All-in all, we had a great holiday.

Time has really been flying by lately. Carson just finished soccer season and he had his best year yet! Every game he did better and better and he even scored some goals. You can see his determination!
He plays with the cutest group of friends and they were really into it this year. Boy, what a difference a year makes.
Since I am also using this blog for a family scrapbook, I need to add in some events that I missed. . . .
In September, Chad ran his first Marathon! It was so exciting and we were so proud of him.
The kids made signs and he stopped to see us for a minute. We had a great time cheering on Dad. We even made a weekend of it and got a hotel. Justin and Amy were also in town, so they came with Chad's parents to the big event.
Chad finished in 3 hours and 54 minutes. Good Job Honey!
While the other Grundy's were in town, we celebrated Kamryn's birthday and made a trip to the zoo.
Also, in June (I know it was forever ago) , Chad and I ran in the Wasatch Back (Ragnar), a 188 mile relay race from Logan to Park City. Our group was divided in two vans and we honestly had the time of our life. It is easy to say that now that time has gone by and I am over the exhaustion, but we really a lot of fun and it is something we will never forget.
I was over three months pregnant at the time, which presented a little bit of a challenge. But, we had signed up for this awhile back and I really didn't want to miss it. Luckily, my team was awesome, and we had a blast.
The funnest parts of the race were the times we were NOT running (obviously!). I know that I spent more time laughing than crying, so that must say something.
We ran day and night, and it was all worth it.
Back to more current times. . ABBY TURNED 8!!!!
She didn't have a friend party this year, but she had a super fun weekend. Grandma gave her a vanity, and now with her ears pierced she spends a lot of time in her room trying on different earings and doing her hair over and over.
We also decorated the garage for her (thanks grandma). She LOVED this! She couldn't stop giggling when she drove up, and she was excited because the kids get on the bus right by our house and everyone could see.
She wanted to go cosmic bowling, and we all had a lot of fun. Although, she was a little mad because Carson kept beating everyone.
Happy Birthday Ab, We Love You!
In really exciting news. . . Chad and I went on our first "alone vacation" since we have had kids. Sure, we have stayed downtown, or even in Park city, but definitely never left the state. We have been planning this for for awhile, ever since Chad heard about his yearly conference that would be in San Antonio. We had really been looking forward to it, and pregnant or not, I was going. So, we spent 5 nights in San Antonio and had a great time. We stayed two nights on the Riverwalk, then the rest of the time at the resort for his conference.
Words cannot even describe how amazing this resort was. It was really hard to leave the kids, and we found ourselves talking about them constantly and wishing they were here, but we found ways to enjoy the peace and quiet and it was exactly what I needed. The place had 3 huge water slides and lazy rivers, but chad and I spent our first time ever in the "adult pool", just because we could!
Carson couldn't understand why we would want to go to Texas on vacation because they are all cowboys, so we brought them home some Texas style souvenirs.
The kids were so worried about us leaving, but as usual, once they were with Grandma and Grandpa they were more than fine. They had a blast and they were convinced they had more fun than we did. Now I think the grandparents are in need of a vacation.
