We started off December with Boden's second birthday. I am glad that he is finally two years old and he is actually looking his age. He is such a big boy and people always ask me how old he is and they can't believe it when I would tell them that he was younger than two. Now I have a whole year to convince people that he is not three. On the other hand, big boy or not, I hate that he is growing up so fast. I want to have a baby forever!
We had a fun little party for him and had all of the Grundy family over for dinner and presents. Grandma and Grandpa gave him a new Big Wheel, and he loved all of the fun and attention.
All throughout December, we enjoyed all of the Holiday festivities. We went to see the Lights at Temple Square, while the Finnerty's were in town and Grandma even toughed it out in her wheelchair after knee replacement surgery (tough cookie!) We saw more lights and the reindeer at Thanksgiving Point.
This year, we had our first annual Borich Christmas Party at our house. We made Grandma Shanna's spaghetti and played games and opened presents. We spent some time visiting with Brady who was able to come home for the holidays, but will be reporting back to Florida and the Yankees organization at the first of the year. Hopefully Uncle Joe and his family will make it to the next one.
Speaking of parties, we also had the ever eventful Grundy Christmas Pajama party. We all wore our pajamas and ate a lot of yummy treats and took a lot of silly pictures.
Cooper is at such a fun age. He absolutely loves the holidays and he gets so excited about everything. He did a great job in his preschool Christmas program and he even got to meet Santa when it was over.
Like Always, we had so much fun on Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa's house. We ate crab legs, and fondue, read stories, and opened up our Christmas jammies.
Christmas morning at our house is organized chaos. We really try to slow things down and keep it under control, but all of our kids get so excited about every little thing, that it ends up being one morning of endless joy. They must have been good this year, because they all seemed to get everything they wanted. Bo was a little confused by the whole thing, and not really sure why everyone was waking him up so early in the morning, but he soon caught on and joined in the fun.
The best thing about the holidays is being able to spend time with the ones we love. We are so lucky to have such a close family and we hate to see them leave at the end of their visit. I love watching all of the cousins together and it amazes me how time will go by between visits, yet, when they see each other, they pick right up where they had left off as if they had never been apart. We love cousins!
We ended the year with a lot of playing in the snow. Although it is crazy to drive in and annoying at times, Christmas in Utah is just not the same without piles and piles of snow. Last Christmas was the first one that I can remember where there was barely any snow the whole season. I even bought the kids new snow pants that were never able to be used. But don't worry, they got plenty of use this year! The kids had a blast playing in the snow and going sledding as much as they could.
Another crazy year come and gone and I still feel the same way.... I love my family, and I love my life! I would not change a thing. I feel so blessed for the craziness that surrounds me and I am thankful for every minute of it. I know God knows me and helps me though every decision I make. I am thankful for the Gospel and the peace and joy that it brings to me and my family. I am BLESSED!
